Magic Come Up Short as Coby White Drops Career-High 44 Points

Coby White delivered the best performance of his young career Thursday night, scoring 44 points to lead the Chicago Bulls to a thrilling 125-123 win over the Orlando Magic.

White was electric from deep, hitting 7-of-15 three-pointers, but it was his late-game heroics that sealed the win. He scored Chicago’s final nine points in crunch time, including two layups, a dunk, and a dagger three-pointer. The Bulls, shorthanded due to injuries, rallied from a nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter to steal the win on the road.

Josh Giddey nearly posted a triple-double with 19 points, 13 rebounds, and nine assists, while Tre Jones added 20 points and a pair of key defensive plays down the stretch. Chicago’s resilience improved its road record to 14-16.

For the Magic, Paolo Banchero and Cole Anthony each scored 20 points, but it wasn’t enough to snap their losing skid. Orlando has now dropped five straight, finishing a tough 1-6 homestand, with the last three losses coming to teams under .500.

The turning point came in the closing minutes when Jones and White came up with steals just 28 seconds apart. White drilled a three off one of them, giving Chicago a 123-121 lead with just over two minutes left. Orlando never fully recovered.

Cold shooting from distance hurt the Magic, as they went just 9-for-33 from beyond the arc.

Next up, both teams return to action Saturday night — the Bulls visit Miami, while the Magic face Milwaukee on the road.
