Collier Shines as Lunar Owls Soar Past Phantom to Stay Perfect

The Lunar Owls BC continued their undefeated streak Saturday night, defeating Phantom BC to improve to 3-0. Leading the charge was forward Napheesa Collier, who dominated the game, posting a double-double by halftime and finishing with an impressive 37 points, 18 rebounds, and three steals. Her performance highlighted the clear separation between the two teams.

The Owls’ offense was straightforward yet effective: run the pick-and-roll. The Phantom struggled to keep up, often leaving Owls players wide open after just one pass. This fluid offense allowed the Owls’ starters to combine for 74 points, shooting just under 50% from beyond the arc.

While the Phantom (1-3) couldn’t keep pace, there were some bright spots. Forward Satou Sabally continued to find her rhythm, scoring 24 points over the past two games despite the team’s ongoing turnover issues.

The Owls’ defense also set the tone. Guard Courtney Williams’ relentless full-court pressure disrupted the Phantom’s offensive flow, forcing them into hurried sets. The speed and intensity of the Owls’ play also neutralized the Phantom’s center, Brittany Griner, who finished with 10 points but struggled to keep up with the fast break.

Next up for the Owls is a game against Vinyl BC on Monday, while the Phantom will face the Rose BC on Friday.
