The NFL Draft Experience

The NFL draft was held in Detroit from the days of April 25th- 27th, and I’m here to describe my experience. Going out there, the whole city was ready to go. Lots and lots of food trucks and most of all, lots and lots of people. Inside the draft venue, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation.

Fans clad in their team’s colors mingled, exchanging banter and predictions. As the draft unfolded, Detroit’s passion for football was on full display. Fans cheered on their favorite teams, eagerly anticipating each pick and speculating on the future of their franchises. Whether they were die-hard Lions supporters or loyal followers of other teams, everyone came together to revel in the excitement of the moment. But the draft wasn’t just about the players. It was also a celebration of Detroit’s resilience and spirit. The city, with its rich history and unwavering determination, served as a fitting host for an event of this magnitude. From the revitalized downtown to the iconic landmarks dotting the skyline, Detroit showcased its vibrant culture and undeniable charm to the world.

As NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, went up to announce the first pick, a roar of boo’s rained down on him per usual. And to put salt on the wound, the Chicago Bears were selecting at #1 in Detroit. From the moment Caleb Williams was announced as the first pick in the draft, to the end of the night, Detroit was buzzing.
